October 19, 2013 - Seiden Grace's Birthday!!! Seiden also met her Opa, Bella, Granddude, and Uncle Stick for the first time!!! She was also admitted into the NICU, intubated, put on a conventional vent, had her first lab drawn, and had an X-Ray on this day.
October 20, 2013 - Daddy changed Seiden's diaper for the first time :-) Miss Seiden also had another X-Ray and met her doctors, Dr. Thomas and Dr. Schmidt, today. She LOVES them...and so do mommy and daddy!!! :-)
October 21, 2013 - Seiden Grace had an MRI, her first feeding through the feeding tube, and sucked on her very first paci! The chaplain also came to visit Seiden and prayed for her...so sweet!
October 22, 2013 - Seiden Grace had an ECHO and a sonogram on her tummy. Mommy and Daddy also got to both lift Seiden up out of her bed while the nurses changed her bedding! It was so wonderful to be able to feel all of her and "pick her up!!!" Mommy also gave Seiden a bath today...her first spa day of many!!!
October 23, 2013 - Seiden Grace had surgery to remove her cystic hygroma
October 24, 2013 - Seiden Grace met her Uncle Josh, Aunt Abbie, and Aunt Brittany (Aunt B) for the first time!
October 26, 2013 - Seiden Grace met her Great Mimi for the first time! They are exactly 90 years apart!!! She also got to finally meet her Nana. She had other visitors on this day as well...she met her sweet Aunt Chrissy and her Uncle Richard. And her cousin Aaron gave her a sweet little sock monkey since he couldn't go back to see her...so sweet! She also met her Granddude's brother (Kirk) and sister-in-law (Kay) as well as Uncle Jake and Aunt Leah! We got the results back from her chromosome/genetic tests. They were negative!!! This brought us all to tears of rejoicing and celebration. We have known from the beginning that everything was going to come out negative, but for it to just be confirmed was just an answered prayer. All glory to God!!!
October 27, 2013 - Seiden Grace helped her daddy celebrate his 31st birthday!!!
October 28, 2013 - Seiden Grace had her umbilical IV taken out. It was also the first time she was finally put in mommy's arms and mommy got to hold her for the first time!!! It was pure bliss :-)
October 29, 2013 - Seiden Grace was extubated!!! This was a big day for our princess. A lot of things and what ifs were tied to having her taken off the ventilator. But, just like everything else she's been through, she jumped over the hurdles with leaps and bounds!!! Her precious little cry is so wonderful to hear. BUT...the best part about this day?!? Daddy got to hold his precious angel for the first time! It was the sweetest moment I've ever been a part of!
October 30, 2013 - Seiden Grace had her first bottle feeding today!!! She took that bottle and started coordinating breathing, sucking, and swallowing like she had been doing it from birth! She took down 2 ounces in 15 minutes...my precious little piggy!!! We also got the news that the second, more detailed chromosome/genetic tests came back...and they were also negative! Praise The Lord for more wonderful news and answered prayers! Aunt Amie also came to visit her for the first time...and Seiden LOVED her!!! And mommy sure was glad to see her sweet sis! She was also moved into a crib and out of her incubator...it was a big day for our precious angel. And she rocked it like the little fighter that she is. She is amazes us...she is so strong and determined...our little champ!!!
October 31, 2013 - Seiden Grace celebrated her first Halloween!!! She was the sweetest treat ever!!! She also got to wear clothes for the first time! Her outfit of choice?!?!? Her Halloween pumpkin onesie that her Opa bought for her along with a matching headband from mommy and daddy and a teddy bear pumpkin lovie from her Bella! Mommy and Daddy also got to both feed her!!! She was taken off of oxygen...so she is completely breathing on her own without even the slightest bit of help!!! And...our dear friend Emory came to meet her for the first time! Another great day for our precious angel!!! Praise God for all the answered prayers!!!
November 1, 2013 - Seiden Grace breastfed for the first time! We had success and she ate about an ounce!
November 2-November 3, 2013 - The past few days have been pretty low key...which has been SO wonderful. We just spent some time relaxing over the weekend while the on-call doctors were here, so there wasn't much going on. Seiden got some good rest and mommy and daddy got to go and do a few fun things with family while things were pretty quiet. It was great for all of us!!!
November 4, 2013 - We got the news today that Seiden Grace will be rooming-in with mommy and daddy in the NICU!!! That means we are one step closer to being discharged! It was a big day for our princess. She had her hearing screen and passed with flying colors. She also had to pass a car seat test. Because she had surgery around her neck, which affects her breathing, she had to have a car seat test to make sure that she could handle being in that position. It was a 90 minute test and she rocked it! Then, it was time to room-in! We got to stay in a hotel-like room in the NICU with her. This way, if anything happened or we had questions about something, we were right there with the nurses that could come and help us. We all did SO great! Seiden is a wonderful, healthy, perfect baby and we just can't wait to get her home!
November 5, 2013 - Seiden Grace was discharged from the NICU!!! After only being there for 17 days, God just blessed us with being able to take our precious angel home. I would be lying if I didn't say I was a little sad. Not because I wanted Seiden to be there for any longer. But, because we met so many amazing people through this experience. Her doctors and nurses were amazing and will be lifelong friends. And the other parents we met in the NICU and at the Ronald McDonald house will also have a special place in our hearts and be lifelong friends. God has had His hands over this entire process from the moment we found out we were pregnant and His presence just continued to grow and consume us. We can feel Him everywhere, even now that we are home. Each and everyone of you that have prayed fervently, we could never thank you enough. You are amazing and are such strong and faithful prayer warriors and they helped keep us strong. Our precious Seiden Grace is such a sweet miracle and has blessed us and amazed us with her strength, will, courage, and determination. Welcome Home Seiden Grace Kelley!!!
