This week has been a pretty low-key week...so that's been kinda nice for a change! These past 3 weeks of summer have just flown by. I've been so busy working, running errands, cleaning, and getting the nursery prepped for painting that I feel like summer has already been a whirlwind. I had a 4 week check-up on Monday with Dr. Tadvick...so it was wonderful to get to hear Seiden's heartbeat again. That sound never gets old! Her little heart was just perfect and her heart rate was 157. My mom played husband and went with me since Cody wasn't able to come home over the weekend and stay through Monday. He is coming home this weekend though! And he will be here Friday night through Monday after our check-up with Dr. Maberry. So that's going to be so much fun and such a treat for both of us! It was good having my mom there though. Those appointments wouldn't be fun going by yourself! She absolutely loved Dr. Tadvick...but how could you not?!?! She said it was wonderful to get to see how good of hands Seiden and I were in through this pregnancy and soon to be labor and delivery. Again...so blessed to have amazing people surrounding your during this precious time! Husband, family, friends and doctors...and doggies are all absolutely wonderful and I don't know what I would do without them!
I did ask a few more questions about that little fluid pocket under Seiden's chin. Dr. Tadvick and Dr. Maberry had talked about it and had already said it was nothing to worry about...but I thought since I was at my 4 week check-up I might as well see if there was any more info. I could get about what was going on. First, this is absolutely, positively, 100% nothing that is going to harm her, affect her, or cause her to not have a completely normal and healthy life. Which, I already knew...but it was just good to hear it again! This little pocket of fluid is completely isolated to the spot under her chin and will not move around anywhere in her body that would cause any problems...it's just a little cyst. If it's gotten bigger (which we have absolutely declared in Jesus' name that it will have gotten smaller and probably go away), then all that will happen is that I will have a 2 week check-up and sonogram with Dr. Maberry for the rest of the pregnancy. The plus side...we will get to see our precious girl every 2 weeks for the next 20 weeks! Otherwise, after Monday...we won't see her again until she graces us with her beautiful presence in the fall! The down side is that it makes the delivery be declared an "emergency." This little cyst will never cause her a single problem in utero, but it could potentially cause problems when she is born. If it's too big, it could affect her breathing...which is obviously not good. So, what will happen is that I will have to have a scheduled c-section. The reason for this is because they will have to also schedule a team of doctors to immediately insert a breathing tube and possibly do surgery to remove the cyst (which won't happen). Dr. Tadvick told me (and we believe this to) that he didn't even think it would come to that. But, if it did, it was really not going to be serious. Just hearing talk about the possibilities gave me even more peace and I just felt this sense of calm come over me. It's funny...the only time I really think about it is when I am telling someone else or writing to you precious people about it! Cody and I both truly believe that God has already reduced this little cyst to being something so insignificant or completely gone that after Monday, we will be smooth sailing. I can truly feel God's presence and His hands all over this precious little girl and this pregnancy. Our God is SO good!
This past Sunday was also Father's Day!!! Cody didn't come in...but there was a surprise waiting for him when he got home on Friday night! A little present from Seiden and a "World's Greatest Pop" gift basket from mommy...accompanied with some books! I did get to spend Father's Day with my daddy as well as my amazing and precious father-in-law. My parents, brother, and I went to church on Sunday, then we went to Cotton Patch to eat lunch. It was so yummy! I haven't been there in so long and forgot how good it was! It was wonderful getting to spend the morning and afternoon with my amazing daddy! He is going to be the most amazing Opa to precious, little Seiden! A little later, I went over to Rick's house to see and talk with him for a little while. It was so good to just sit and chat with him for a bit...I know Cody wished he could be there too! We gave both our dads the precious profile picture of Seiden that we got from our sonogram last week...they loved it! We both love our dad's so, so much and are so blessed by them each and everyday!
On one last note...Trigger turned 3 on June 18th!!! She got some delicious birthday cookies and a fun new toy...that Faith stole from her! Poor Trigger!!! But...she loves her bones and was perfectly content with playing with all three of them while Faith was playing with the raccoon tennis ball! She is still our sweet little diddle and has just the most fun personality! Trigger is our little baby and is one beautiful and special little girl! We love you Triggy!!!
Seiden Grace at 20 Weeks:
- You are 7 inches long and weigh 11 ounces!!!
- You are the size of a banana!!!
- You are swallowing several ounces of amniotic fluid everyday...for nutrition and hydration as well as to practice swallowing and digesting.
- You are still constantly twisting, turning, and doing somersaults in my tummy! I have felt you move quite a bit...but you've still got lots of room to move and wiggle around!
- You are sleeping between 12-14 hours a day...lucky little girl!!!
- You are growing so much and are just getting more and more precious each and everyday! We love you so much baby girl!!!
Only 20 More Weeks To Go!!!
